My jewellery is made with recycled and natural materials, and I use various techniques in their creation. Each piece is one of a kind, because each material has its own life that I always try to bring to light. Sometimes it's a long, studied process involving drawings and sketches; other times it happens naturally, observing the materials and discovering the connection between them. My current project starts from Venice. I've been making jewellery with recycled material that I find in the lagoon of Venice, particularly beach wood and Murano glass rejects. Wood is a live material, and it lends itself to interesting combinations with waste deriving from industrial/artisan manufacturing. On the beach wood I wanted to imitate the exit holes of woodworms because as well as creating an similar aesthetic, the holes represent the birth and growth towards adulthood and thus change: rebirth in a new form.   From February 2013 Gran Teatro la Fenice, Venice, Italy.
