Dioneadesign by Giorgia Iachizzi

Giorgia Iachizzi graduated from La Sapienza University in Rome in Industrial Design in 2009, after the school of art and working in a goldsmith's laboratory. Her jewels are made through lost wax casting and by 3d printing and are the result of the passion to shape the material and for the sculptural shapes.
 
 
The process by which the jewels are made consist of several stages. The first is the concept, an initial idea: the objects are not designed on paper in their finished state but are sketched in abstract form; an a geometric basis.
 
 
In the digital modelling stage the object will assume a more definite form. This initial design is then modified and elaborated on many times: the shapes are increased or thinned, the surfaces are cut and curved.  After many changes numerous tests and transformations, for the most part random, the final piece takes shape.
 
 
The style of the jewels can be described ad solid and thick. The geometry develops a form which is different in every single detail.
The metals used are: bronze and pure solid silver.
 
 
 
In the plastic collection the materials used include nylon high definition 3d printed: this process allow a very high level of detail and, thanks to the lightness and durability of the material it is possible to create shapes as sculptures which can be worn for any occasion.
