Il mio nome è Andreia Gabriela Popescu. Sono designer e creatore di gioielli contemporanei. Sono anche professore presso la Scuola di Gioiello Contemporaneo Assamblage. La mia professione di origine è economista. Mi sono laureata presso l'Accademia di Studi al Dipartimento di Economia delle Finanze, Banca e Contabilità nel 1997. In un primo momento il mio interesse in gioielleria era di complemento alla mia tavolozza di interessi. Sono sempre stata attratta da arte e creazione. Questa mia passione si è evoluta in seguito in un cambiamento di carriera.
My name is Andreia Gabriela Popescu. I design and create contemporary jewelry, and I am also teaching at Assamblage, the Romanian School of contemporary jewelry. My education formed me as an economist, graduating the Academy of Economic Studies-Department of Finance, Banking and Accounting in 1997. I have worked in my field for a few years, while developing creative activities in the meantime. All this culminated in 1999 with creating my own company of design and production of clothing.
At first, my interest in jewelry came to complete my interests, since I was being permanently pulled towards activities concerning art and creation, but has later on evolved into a career change.
Come artista di gioiello contemporaneo ho partecipato a tutti gli eventi e fiere del settore, nazionali e internazionali.
Se dovessi descrivere in poche parole il mio lavoro creativo, potrei dire che mi piace lavorare anelli. Gli anelli rappresentano per me una forma di comunicazione e penso che evidenzino il carattere di chi li indossa. Un anello speciale ti fa sentire bene, ma può anche essere testimone della vostra personalità. Allo stesso modo creo bracciali, orecchini... Mi piace "costruire" la storia dietro i miei gioielli mentre li forgio. I miei gioielli sono caratterizzati da forme e finiture audaci dallo stile contemporaneo. Le loro forme risultano essere complesse e atipiche.
As contemporary jewelry artist I participated in all major related events and exhibitions, national and international, the most representative being: AUTHOR - Fair biannual of contemporary jewelry by author, JEWELRY DESIGN FAIR, PROJECT A, MARCHE DE NOEL, DESIGN YOUR CHRISTMAS, co-organized both in Romania and in Austria, and so on. If I have to resume in a few words my creative work, I would say that I like to create rings the most. In my opinion, a ring represents a form of communication and I think that they highlight the wearer. A special ring makes you feel good, but can also say the most about your personality. I equally create bracelets, earrings... Pieces that i can "build" the story of, while I'm working on them. My jewelry is distinguished by bold and novel shapes, finishes of surfaces, and their apparent difficulty in wearing makes them more complex and atypical.
Uso l'argento, l'oro, pietre preziose e semi-naturali. Nelle mie collezioni, uso anche materiali non convenzionali, che non sono nel classico gioiello, questa combinazione offre i gioielli un tocco di originalità.
Le mie collezioni sono legate all'ispirazione del momento. La mia ispirazione viene da tutto il mondo attorno a me: forme, sensazioni, sentimenti...
I mostly use silver, gold, precious and semiprecious natural gems, but in my collections you can find some unconventional materials. Although some of the materials I use are not specific to classic jewelry, the combinations that I use give the personality and originality of each piece. My collections come by the inspiration of the moment, and it comes from everywhere around me: forms, sensations, feelings...
In conclusione, posso dire che la mia gioielleria può essere indossato da personi speciali, collezionisti e appassionati d'arte, in grado di capirne la storia, e apprezzare il metallo prezioso come valore intrinseco e sentire la vibrazione dei cristalli e delle pietre utilizzate.
Voglio che i miei gioielli esprimano energia positiva, sentimenti ed esperienze !
As a conclusion, I can say that my jewelry can be worn by special people, able to understand the story behind each piece that they wear, that understand and appreciate the precious metal at its intrinsic value and feel the vibration of crystals and stones used.
My jewels are worn by those who understand, appreciate and collect art.
I want my jewelry to transmit positive energy, feelings and intense experiences above the image.
