Born and raised in Hong Kong, she was first inspired to make jewelry in 2012, when she moved to Bali to live by herself and release innate creativity. She studied jewelry design and metalsmithing in Florence in 2015. She moved to Ho Chi Minh City and started her first collection in 2016.
- When did you start dedicating yourself to the world of contemporary jewelry?
I started jewelry making in 2015 in Florence. I recently developed my brand: lamcy jewelry from May 2017
- What do you take inspiration from when you start creating a new collection?
I am inspired by my surroundings, mostly from my living environment and travel. I particularly like architecture design and different shapes of objects - geometric and organic
- What kind of work or material do you prefer?
I work with silver mostly. I like colouring on jewelry with acrylic and resin. Besides, I also use recycle materials like plexi glasses, etc
- What are your points of reference in the world of contemporary jewelry and art?
I think there are two areas for me at this stage: 1) different shades of blue and 2) geometric form
- Three words with which you would describe the Artistar Jewels project.
1) creative 2) contemporary 3) international
- What do you think of the jewels that were on show this year?
Have you been fascinated by any particular creation? I think the jewelries are very creative and it was great to see different jewelers are using different materials. It is important to see how jewelries can be sustainable with recycle and non precious material. My favorite piece would be "Alice" by Katy Tromans.
- How would you define the atmosphere created on the 22nd and 23rd February nights of Artistar Jewels 2018?
The events are both very glamourous and interactive. It was great to meet different artists around the world
- Would you recommend to other artists to take part in Artistar Jewels?
Yes for sure!
- What were the services / opportunities that most pushed you to participate in the event?
I think there are not a lot of event promoting international contemporary jewelry artists. And the fact that Artistar Jewels has been a reputable organization who has been doing this for few years is very appealing to me. It was an honor to be accepted and got a chance to show case my pieces.
