This is what occurred to Manuela, Davide and Gabriele, three young talents with a great passion for arts and design, who have been capable of setting up a small laboratory to produce objects, giving life to something new starting from recovered materials.
This is the origin of “SOB – Shaping Outside the Box”, a creative adventure that has in simplicity, elegance and functionality its business milestones.
SOB encloses in itself what design is, a synthesis between vision (concept), technology and creativity. SOB is an Artisan Laboratory where the inventiveness and the passion of these young creatives give life to elegant objects obtained by the combination of deep knowledge in materials, craftsmanship and innovative technologies.
The idea “SOB” was born on april 2013, when the three youngsters decide to exploit the wasted materials of a firm, that realizes plastic products, based next to their studio (spazioFARE). With the smallest scraps Manuela, Davide and Gabriele realize the first prototypes of Fashion Accessories: bracelets, earrings and necklaces; artisanal bijoux characterized by shapes and curves inspired by the unique style of famous artists.
All SOB’s accessories are conceived and realized inside an artisanal laboratory where aesthetic and functionality meet arts, with the aim of satisfying that unconscious desire of wearing art inherent in most people.
SOB’s favourite material is Acrylic, which is firstly cut and carved by laser machinery, then assembled by hand. We’re talking about “artisanal production” of simple objects that, combining aesthetic and functionality, are addressed to those people who want to enrich their outfits not using luxurious and expensive materials.
The most recent creative effort of SOB is a collection of Furnishing Accessories: ornamental objects for the house, which, if on one hand have a specific purpose and function, on the other hand can satisfy an aesthetic need, giving the house a touch of uniqueness and minimalist modernity.
Industrial technology and artisanal passion merge to create unique objects, emblems of an idea of style made by sober and minimalist lines.
The products are distributed through an e-commerce (www.sob-web.com), which is, at the same time, a shop-window and a direct channel producer-customer. The brand is also launched through viral campaigns on the main social networks, especially on Facebook.
The public response is enthusiastic: curiosity and a lot of orders in just few months.
